Start with the duty point
Define the required flow and total dynamic head at the actual operating condition. Avoid selecting only by motor power: the intersection between the system curve and pump curve determines the operating point.
Describe the liquid
Record solids size, concentration, abrasiveness, temperature, pH and any fibrous material. These conditions affect hydraulic style, materials, seal arrangement and wear life.
Confirm the electrical system
Voltage, phase, frequency, starting method, cable length and control philosophy must be reviewed together. A 50 Hz published model is not automatically a 60 Hz performance claim.
Plan installation and service
Check outlet connection, guide-rail or portable installation, minimum water level, lifting access and the ability to inspect wear parts. A serviceable design can reduce lifecycle disruption.
