Survey well diameter and water levels

Measure casing or internal diameter, total depth, static water level and expected dynamic water level while pumping at the target flow. Record pump setting depth and available submergence; nominal bore size alone does not establish fit.

Define flow and total head

State required flow, vertical lift from the pumping level, discharge pressure, pipe length, fittings, storage or pressure-system range and operating schedule. Use the system condition with the applicable pump curve.

Check drawdown and intake conditions

Describe expected drawdown, available well-yield information, screen or intake position, bottom clearance and any risk of air entry or sediment at the intake. Confirm allowable submergence and installation depth from exact model documentation.

Record sand and water quality

Provide sand concentration or observed sand load, particle information, temperature, pH, conductivity and chemistry relevant to wetted materials. A clean-water curve does not prove suitability for different solids or chemistry.

Match stages and motor pairing

Select stage count and hydraulics against the stated flow and total head, then verify the exact submersible motor, power, frequency, coupling and operating limits. Keep pump and motor model numbers together.

Confirm cable, starting and protection

Provide voltage, phase, frequency, cable size and length, installation depth, starting method or VFD, voltage-drop assumptions, overload and short-circuit protection, level or dry-run controls and grounding. Confirm settings with motor and panel documentation.

Plan installation and access

Confirm riser or drop-pipe connection, cable support, centering, lifting, non-return and isolation components required by the design, panel location and inspection access. Follow the exact manual for bore diameter, orientation and limits.

Send well data, drawdown, intake and water quality, duty point, stages, motor pairing, cable, start, protection and installation details with the proposed model. Request written confirmation of exact pump, stages, motor, curve basis, materials, electrical configuration and documentation before purchase specification.
